- Memory Requirements:
-
- Before you may run The 7th Guest from the Windows 95 desktop, determine if
- DOS has enough free conventional memory:
-
- At the DOS prompt (from Windows), type "MEM" and press 'ENTER'. Find where
- it says "LARGEST EXECUTABLE PROGRAM SIZE." This value must be larger than
- what is required to run the game, and varies with the version of The 7th
- Guest you have.
-
- From the DOS prompt type "CD\ID\T7G" and press 'ENTER'
- Type "V ?" and press 'ENTER'
-
- This will bring some information up on the screen (see example below):
-
- GROOVIE Player (c) 1993 Trilobyte
- Version 1.30: 07/16/93 @ 14:52.46
-
-
- Version: Conventional Memory Required
- Version 1.30 540k or higher
- Version 1.24 570k or higher
- Version 1.22 570k or higher
-
- If the Largest Executable Program Size is less than what is required you
- will need to use a boot disk, or disable unnecessary TSR's (Terminate and
- Stay Resident programs). For additional information on making a boot disk,
- request document 005 from our faxback server or access VIE's Creating a
- boot disk for VIE CD-ROM PC titles FAQ from the FAQ site. Unfortunately,
- present call volume prevents our Technical Support Specialists from
- assisting with boot disk creation over the phone; as this process may
- require thirty minutes or more.
-
- Please remember you can call us at (714) 833-1999 (US) 24-hours a day to
- use
- our Automated Support System. Live support is available Monday through
- Friday
- 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Pacific Standard time if our Automated system cannot
- help.
